Should Parents Be Allowed To Hit Their Children?

Killing and hurting others intentionally is considered a crime. If a parent hits a child and hurts them isn’t that considered a crime? I believe parents shouldn’t be able to hit their children. Parents shouldn’t be able to hit their children because it could be fatal, and it causes physical & emontional damage, and it doesn’t improve the child.

Fatal means death. If you hit a child in a certain or particular place with a certain amount of force it could kill them. Children aren’t all the way developed so a beating could mean death. Although the purpose wouldn’t be to kill the child just to discipline them, you can never tell. So parents shouldn’t be able to hit their children.

A dramatic experience in your childhood could shape your adult life& your everyday life. Plus it can leave life lasting bruises. Getting hit as a child by your parent can leave you emontionally damaged as well. Some children will feel as if everyone is out to get them. The children may also grow up to despise their parents. Physical damage can be left because a bruise might not heal or an injury may never go away. The emontional damage and physical damage is why parents shouldn’t be able to hit their children.

Hitting a child continuously will not stop them from making mistakes or doing bad things. It will make them share but they will continue to mess up if they know that will be their only punishment. That is why hitting a child is not effective and shouldn’t be used.

To sum up my essay, parents hitting their children shouldn’t be allowed because it could be fatal, cause physical & emotional damage, and it doesn’t work.

Huck Finn : Should It Be Taught?

Known as one of the greatest novels of all time, Huck Finn is still being debated as whether or not it should be taught in high school. Many think it shouldn’t be taught in schools. Some think it should be taught in schools. Some think its should. The ones against it may not understand its complexity & need to be known. Of course it has racist words, but doesn’t textbooks too. Huck Finn is just telling a story, and I believe it should be taught in schools. It shows conflict in the South (whites v. blacks), struggles of runaway slaves, and its historical.

Does, Huck Finn depicted the conflict in the South9 whites v. blacks)? How whites, didn’t respect blacks in that time period. This directly shows the hatred toward one or another. Ms. Watson didn’t respect Jim as a person because she says, “ She couldn’t git eight hund’d dollars for me, on it ‘ uz such a big stack o ‘ money she couldn’t resist. Whites considered blacks as property not a person. They felt as if blacks were inferior to them.

Secondly, Huck Finn should be taught in school because it shows how runaway slaves had to struggle just to escape to freedom. Jim had to duck & hides just not to be seen. For example, “ I got hurt a little, en couldn’t swim fas’ so I wuz a considerable ways behind you towards de las: Just to get to the North many became injured & hurt.

Lastly, Huck Finn is very historical & should be taught. It’s historical because it explains family life during that time, slavery, history, charity etc. It shows how the courts weren’t that good. How they weren’t let someone else have Huck only his dad who was drunk. The judge & the widow went to law to get the court to take me away.

In conclusion Huck Finn should be taught because it shows the lack of respect
(whites. Blacks), struggle of runway slaves, and its historical importance. These factors are all important to the knowledge of history that helps students understand.

The Jewish musmuen

the trip to to the jewish musmneum was very cultural. It showed how imgrants have a hard time fitting in and adating. The english languange isn't a very easy one either. Many imigrants come to america for freedom but feel homesick. This opened my eyes to see that imigrants need help to adapt in and we should be more helpful.

The event at the NCC

the event at the NCC was very interesting. A girl got in trouble for just making a myspace. Even throgh she put a disclaimer. This shows how the rights of teenagers are not always regonzied. This event gave us examples of how we are vioalted and how what rights we have. Many people are interested in handling cases with teens. This was fun and I liked it

freedom or security

I belive security is more important than freedom on the internet. Security is needed to help children our age and adults to protect themselvees. Though we need to have freedom we neede to be protected to right? For example , child predators are on the internet and will try to lure children. The security helps protect us . Also the internet has people trying to get numbers and adreddes, social security cards an d things. These people are just waiting. This is why securtiy is more important.

Water in Africa

Water in africa pics were very interesting to see. The Africans use their water with ease. We as Americans are greedy. We take our water for granted. For example, when we brush our teeth most of us leave the water on. This is watsing water. Other people in the world don't have acess to fresh , clean water inside . Americans need to see thesse things and start realizing that we can't do these things. To see these people is a sad thing but it is a eye opener . Everyone needs to start reserving in order to presevre our natural resources. The photo project was a good one.

My brocheure for science

Lawyers case for physical science

I was a secret lawyer and here is my arguements:

Lawyer’s case
Physical science

Good morning ladies and gentleman I’m Khalia Thompson and I’m Micheal Kelly. For the past week my partner and I have went undercover to investigate the violates to the Constitution and to humans.

You will first hear from Micheal Kelly about how the iChip is unsafe. Mike’s essay

The iChip created by various companies have not had an organized and stable testing facility, where the ichip were tested on its impact regarding human civilizations health.

In order for the iChip to be placed back on the market the iChip must be tested by professional scientists. Many trails and experiment must be ran on the iChip in order to conclude if the iChip is safe enough for human use.

The testing facilities must incremented tests on each part of the iChip assuring the 100 percent awareness and dangers of the product.

The iChip is very familiar to when the cell phone was uplifted in the mid 1990s. Some people were diagnoses with brain cancer during the beginning of the cell phone era.

Since many of the companies were getting sued, Congress decided to force the cell phone companies to open testing faculties to test the cell phones relation to brain cancer. The cell phone company found inconclusive results, allowing the cell phone to be placed back on the market.

The chip is unsafe and shouldn’t be or the market. Here are my partner’s arguments.

Yes the iChip would be more business efficient but wouldn’t it take away jobs? Like the computer engineering jobs etc. I f everyone at a business has an iChip then is no need for computers right?

Secondly the iChip violates the Fourth Amendments. Some manufactures put tracking devices their iCip. The Fourth Amendments protects against unreasonable searches and seizures. The government is seeing your every move. If you were to be at the scene of a crime the government could use this against you and would know you were there because of the tracking devices.

Imagine someone would give you 1 million dollars to make an ipod that record thoughts. This is exactly what is going on. Tab Inc, NTI, L&J, and Increase all are in it for the money. And I went undercover I have direct Quotes for example “ L&J said their only in it for the money and they care about the people but more about the people. This was pretty much the expression I received from all the groups. The 2 million dollars was a huge amount just for designing the iChip. I went undercover because the iChip manufactures won’t publicly admit to their true motives because of self-incrimations. This gives them the right not to publicly incrimate them selves.

Through the iChip has advantages it has too many flaws. The iChip should be immediately taken off the market till testing has been done. Thank You

The CHS Constiution

The constiution for our school is fair but it has flaws. For instance the Constution doesn't outline the term for the president. So if a president wanted to stay in office then what? Also the excutive branch can be a 9grader and to be a judge you have to be a 10 grader. That doesn't make sense. But we are also making admentments so we have the right to change. But at least we have the right to propse the adments.

The Constitution Period 8, 9
Philosophy of Government II

Was the Constitution effectively protecting the U.S. in the ideal society? The Constitution failed to balance individual freedom and security because the president wasn’t able to stop the Freedom fight club, protect the public from terrorist attacks, or reinstate First Amendment rights.

Terrorism exists in the U.S. and in our iDeal society. The Constitution didn’t effectively help to catch the terrorist. The President couldn’t figure out who the terrorist were without bumping heads with Congress over the rights of the people. The Constitution ‘s First Amendment states “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or the freedom of speech, or of the press: or the right of the people to peacefully to assemble, and to petition the government which gives terriost the right to protest. But citizens were openly protested the iChip outside the National Center, and it was blown up. The President proposed a bill that stopped violent protesters. Congress and citizens disagree and said the President was violating their freedom of speech and that Congress shall make no law doing that. The terrorist continued and the President wasn’t able a law banning violent protests. The President needed Congress’s approval for almost everything because of the checks and balances the Constitution created. One thing the President could do via execute order was declare anyone who was convicted of terriosm would have the death penalty. Congress didn’t agree at first but then they agreed it would be better for the country. The President didn’t need their approval for that. This was a check in the executive power. The checks and balances made it difficult to catch the terrorist with Congress and President butting heads.

The public should be protected and feel secure. Through the President couldn’t stop violent protesters, the President could act as Commander in Chief. The Constitution states, “ The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army & Navy of the U.S. In the iDeal society it was a war on the home front on terrorist. The President has the right to pursue decisions on these conflicts. Congress wouldn’t approve to declare a “ real war’, depending on the ones definition of a war. So via execute order the President put the death penalty in effect for anyone tried & convicted of terriosm. There was opposition from Congress but this was a check in the Presidents power. So even through the President couldn’t declare a “ real war’ on terriosm the President could make punishments. But this penalty didn’t really help because the terrorist was still blowing up public areas. The Constitution didn’t effectively help balance the power between Congress and the President.
We the people have the right to freedom of speech. During the iDeal society simulation, the citizens against the iChip posted signs & openly spoke out against the President, called for the President ‘s impeachment, and told everyone about their dislike of the iChip. Of course the citizens have the right to speak against the government but certain things can be considered a “present danger”. Such in other classes, a case was taken to the Supreme Court. In which they ruled the citizen didn’t present a " clear and present danger”. Even through we have the right to freedom of speech some things could be seen as a clear and present danger. The Constitution didn’t effectively balance individual freedoms & security.

To conclude my essay, the Constitution failed to balance individual freedoms & security because the president wasn’t able to stop the Freedom Fight Club, protect the public from terriost attacks, nor reinstate First Amendment rights.

The Cat in the hat

Khalia Thompson
Section 1,2

Was Dr. Seuss implanting Freud’s psychical theory in the Cat In The Hat? Yes, Freud’s psychological theory is based on three parts the id, ego, and superego. The character I chose to analyze and fidget with is the narrator. Our narrator is stuck between the ego, and superego as the story starts. Superego dominated toward the end. The narrator’s speech, and actions, three indirect characterization proves my opinion.

“ I do not like the way that they play “, the narrator says. At the end or toward the end the narrator shows his superego kicking in. Superego is the moral part developed due to the moral part placed on us by caregivers. The narrator began to think about the mother’s absence & return.

Wasn’t the ego also working though? Of course. For example the narrator says, “ Sally and I did not know what to say”. This text appears at the begging. The ego knows the Cat in the Hat isn‘t allowed in the house when their unsupervised. But this ego is the stage in which the situation. But its still considering its own needs to have fun, which is the need of the id. The id doesn’t car about anyone else. This narrator’s indirect characterization shows its confusion between the ego & superego.

“ Now you do as I say “. You pack up these Things and you take them away.” This shows the superego dominating through and winning.
In conclusion to my thoughts, the narrator is torn at the beginning but matures into the superego toward the end.

My Philosphy of Government

My philosophy on government is that I agree with certain of Lockes and Hobbes. Humans are naturally competitive but human behavior is what causes us to do bad things. Also the government is needed to control and modify human behavior . Also to protect our natural born rights as stated in the Constitution.
