The Presidental Election

The presidental election to me is based on the race card. I feel that the voters and common people are making it seem as if race should decide who you vote. Obama has good goals but I don't know if he will follow through. Hilary clinton has the experince of having a husband who was already in office. but I fear that she may come with his baggage. There has been talk that Bill Clinton had made a agreement with the middle east while in office. Also I wonder if Hilary will let her husband influnece her. Although bill Clinton was a good president. Obama speech on race and religion shocked me. He spoke out about how people say he's not black enough . He told his story and didn't care. He stood up and didn't care about the reactions. Church is supposed o be separeted from state. I like both of them But I like Clinton better.

Summer Student Ambassador Program

Each summer, the Volunteer Services Office at Pennsylvania Hospital offers the Student Ambassador Program for all students (ages 14 to 17). Teens who participate in this summer program receive a behind-the-scenes look at health care careers. The program targets high school students who may be interested in pursuing a career in health care, but all students are invited to apply.

2007 Program Dates: June 25th through August 31th
Completed Application Deadline: May 18, 2007
Application Packets - Application packets can be obtained at the Volunteer Services Office, North Gatehouse, after March 1, 2007 from Tuesday through Thursday between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm. If you are unable to visit the office, the application can be mailed to you. Please call and request a Student Ambassador Summer Application. Leave your name, address, and telephone number. For any additional information, please contact the Volunteer Services Office at 215-829-5187. After receipt of the completed application, students will be contacted in May/June and required to attend a processing/placement session.
Processing/Placement Session - The sessions will be held at 5 pm on Tuesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 24, 2007 in the Zubrow Auditorium, located on the first floor of the Preston Building. Students will receive additional communication regarding these sessions. It is mandatory that students attend one of these sessions.
Student Placement - Placement will be made according to the availability of sites in the student's area of interest, and once the interview and all appropriate paperwork are completed.

The NHD was a good experience but I believe that it should only be mandatory for 9 & 10 graders. I learned important skills for college such as annotated bibliography and how to research. One thing I could have done better is to use the workshops to my advantage instead of wasting time but overall it was a good experience. Some changes for next year would be to have more teachers in the workshops instead of one. I would also suggest staring earlier so the research cam is more centered and detailed. The annotated bibliography should have more sources than 30. Also a person that is an English professor should be brought in more often. Also exhibts should be more mathacally accurate and spaced because the winners have more than 30 sources and have more better looking projects than us. I also feel like it is a shame because we should be winning and we devote all is time for nothing. But overall the researching and going to the historical sites are showing we are devoted.
